Betty Lou Shegogue, devoted to her church
Mrs. Betty Lou Shegogue, 84, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015.
Betty was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Calverton, Va. to the late Hughie Beach and Pearl Robinson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two children, Carl Ray Millard and Nancy Lynn Millard; and two brothers, Eugene Beach and Landon Beach.
She retired from Montgomery Co., Maryland where she worked as a tax clerk. Betty was deeply involved and devoted to her church, The Eastern Shore Community Church. She was always thinking and doing for others. Her sweet, friendly and humble nature caused everyone to fall in love with her almost immediately.
Betty is survived by her husband of 38 years, Edward L. Shegogue of Millsboro; two children, Gloria Faye McCabe of Raleigh, N.C. and Michael Darden Eure and his wife Laurie of Harper’s Ferry, W. Va.; a stepdaughter, Diana L. Shegogue-Damron and her husband Steve of Gambrills, Md.; a stepson, Edward R. Shegogue and his wife Darlene of Mechanicsville, Va.; three grandchildren, Teresa Lynn McCabe of Raleigh, Anna Marie Damron of Baltimore, Md. and Heather Damron of Columbia, Md.; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family members.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 7, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where a viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
