In a Dec. 18 matchup of Cape Henlopen School District middle school basketball teams, the Beacon girls downed Mariner 24-17, while the Mariner boys handed Beacon a 32-22 loss.
Beacon's Rye Elliott led the Lewes Lady Vikings with seven points, while Mariner's Dania Cannon scored 10.
The Mariner boys were led by Jo Jo Kirby with 13 points, while Cory Barnes hit for 12. Beacon's Shikia Chandler scored nine points and Kris Rushin added eight.
