Dorcas 'Doll' Weaver, retired bookkeeper

Dorcas LaRue (Doll) Weaver, 86, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Born in York, Pa., Dorcas was a 1947 graduate of North York High School, an organist for Mt. Zion UCC for many years, and, until her retirement, a bookkeeper for Quaker City Paper Co.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Sylvia Doll; brother Gordon Doll; sister Thelma Snyder; and husband of 41 years, Donald R. Weaver.

Dorcas is survived by five children: Linette Kindig (Craig), Jay, James, Dean (Cathy) and Larry Weaver; three grandchildren: Rachelle Davis, Brett Kindig and Nathaniel Weaver; and three great-grandchildren: Matthew, Jenna, and Avery.

A 2 p.m. graveside service will be held Monday, Feb. 29, at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Pennsylvania Avenue entrance in York, Pa., meeting at 1:45 p.m. for the procession.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Dorcas’ memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
