Kamesha Worthy, CNA, cares for patients at the Bayhealth Kent Campus and has earned a Sunshine Award for her high quality care.
The Sunshine Award recognizes the vital team members who support our nursing staff and work closely together in order to provide compassionate care to patients. The Sunshine Award is an extension of the DAISY Award “as daisies need sunshine to grow.”
Communication and compassion are key when caring for another person. Worthy has beautifully demonstrated her compassionate communication skills when working to understand the needs of one patient with dementia.
Worthy went the extra mile in creating a comfortable space for her patient. She frequently checked on her patient and spent extra time to understand the cause of any distress whether it was emotional or physical.
“It is obvious this isn’t just for show because my mother’s face lights up when she comes in the room. Worthy should be commended for her level of compassion and exemplary performance,” said Worthy’s nominator.
