Ablaze Catholic youth event set at St. Jude site Nov. 20

November 10, 2021

St. Jude the Apostle Parish will serve as a virtual site for the National Catholic Youth Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 20.

The live convention is taking place in front of 25,000 high school and college youth as well as adult leaders from across the United States at Lucas Oil Stadium and the Indianapolis Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis, Ind.

Ablaze is an exciting experience of prayer, community and empowerment for Catholic teenagers and their adult chaperones. St. Jude will bring young people from Sussex and Worcester counties to see some of the best happenings from Indianapolis in a virtual, prerecorded environment. They also will see some homegrown live presentations from young, energetic personalities uniquely known to local parish communities in southern Delaware and coastal Maryland.

St. Jude’s Parish Life Center features a state-of-the-art, 5,000-square-foot conferencing area with a modern sound system and full theater-style projection capabilities.

Small-group prerecorded NCYC virtual breakout sessions will be livestreamed in the Christian Formation Center next door.

A live event exclusively for the St. Jude audience will include a personal presentation by Aviah Stillman, a local resident and St. Jude’s parishioner. She will detail her continuing journey to Christ and how God has worked in her though the sacraments of reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist.

St. Jude’s event is free to all St. Jude and Delmarva regional youth in seventh to 12th grades. A continental breakfast will be available from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Lunch will also be provided. Registration is required; to sign up go to stjudelewes.org.
