Active Adults Realty announces 2014 Shining Star Award winners

Active Adults Realty owners Kathy Sperl-Bell, broker and Bill Bell, Realtor recently announced the 2014 Shining Star Award winners at Active Adults Realty in Lewes.

“The Shining Start Awards recognize the exceptional work and service provided by members of the Active Adults Realty team,” says Kathy Sperl-Bell, Active Adults Realty broker. “As one of the area’s only boutique brokerages, we feel it is important to single out our agents/Realtors® for their achievements as we forge ahead in the recovering real estate market. This year’s Active Adults Realty Shining Star Award recipients include:

Bill Bell was awarded the 2014 North Star Award. “Without Bill, our direction would not be as clear and steady,” said Sperl-Bell. In addition, Bill is the top selling agent with the most homes sold in 2014 by any Active Adults Realty agent.

Linda Chick received the 2014 Purple Heart Award. Despite some health challenges this year, Chick was the top listing agent at Active Adults Realty as well as the top listing and selling agent at Heritage Shores once again. Chick joined the Active Adults Realty team five years ago.

Debbie Shearer is the recipient of the 2014 Super Star Award. Shearer doubled her sales in 2014 over 2013. She is always willing to go the distance with her clients and has sold homes in all parts of Delaware. Shearer was also the 2014 top listing and selling agent at the Village of Cinderberry in Georgetown. She joined the Active Adults Realty team three years ago after relocating to Delaware from Maryland.

Al Willis was awarded The Closer Award for 2014. Last year, Willis was the Rookie of the Year for both Active Adults Realty and Schell Brothers. This year, in his first full year as a Realtor, Willis tripled his sales over 2013 and once again received a STAR Realtor Award from Schell. Willis has been with Active Adults Realty since obtaining his real estate license in spring 2013.

Elliot Welan was presented with the 2014 Rising Star Award. Welan joined Active Adults Realty after relocating to Milton from northern Virginia. Welan began his real estate career in new home sales as a community sales manager for Brookfield Homes, where he focused on 55 and better communities, estate homes and custom homes. He joined K Hovnanian Homes in 2011, working with new home buyers in Virginia and in Delaware, then joined the team at Active Adults Realty as a licensed Delaware Realtor in December 2013.

Bryan Powers is the newest member of the Active Adults Realty team and as such, received The Apprentice Award. Powers has an extensive business background in related industries. “Real estate was the career I’ve always wanted, but until now was never the right time,” said Powers. He understands the requirements of the boomer generation and promises to provide exceptional service to earn satisfied clients.

Judy Robinson, Active Adults Realty office manager and settlement coordinator, was unanimously awarded The Cheerleader Award. “Judy can be observed doing the happy dance any time an agent drops off a new contract. Judy joined Bill and myself in 2010 and was instrumental in growing the Active Adults Delaware team into what is now Active Adults Realty, which celebrated three years as an independent brokerage this month,” said Sperl-Bell.

Carol Fezuk, Active Adults Realty marketing manager, was awarded the one and only Design Star for the second year in a row. Her creativity and extensive background in media have been tremendous assets to everyone at Active Adults Realty. From the graphical design of the entire Active Adults Realty brand to the website, signs, email newsletters and all the advertising, marketing and web content, Fezuk is a key member of the team.
