Adella Sarah Vignola, loved Rehoboth Beach
Adella Sarah Vignola (née Palmer), 87, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 31, 2025.
Born June 2, 1937, to Ted and Goldia Palmer, Adella grew up in Rehoboth Beach. In 1956, she married her high school sweetheart, Ray Vignola. The couple spent four years in San Diego, Calif., while Ray served in the Navy before returning home to Rehoboth Beach to raise their three children, Michael, Ted and Terry.
Adella cultivated deep roots in the Rehoboth Beach community. She worked for Dr. Klingel and Farmers’ Bank before becoming the director of the Rehoboth Beach Chamber of Commerce, where she worked until she retired. After Ray retired from the Delaware State Police, where he had risen to the rank of lieutenant colonel, the couple relocated to Florida, eventually settling in The Villages, where they happily spent 30 years. Adella had a passion for the game of golf and was a proud member of the Red Hats.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ted and Goldia; her siblings, Alma and Ted Jr.; her beloved daughter, Terry; and her grandchild, Erin Fuller.
Adella’s memory will be forever cherished by her devoted husband, Ray; her loving sons, Michael and Ted; her daughters-in-law, Nancy Shields, Susan Vignola and Diane Vignola; her grandchildren, Mikey and Rory, along with their spouses Anna and Kadra; and her great-grandchild and namesake, Adela.
Memorial services for Adella will be private.
