An exhibit of artwork by Linda Celestian is on display at CAMP Rehoboth Community Center. A reception is set from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, March 4. All are invited to stop by to meet Celestian, see her art and enjoy refreshments. She views nature as a metaphor for human experiences and emotional states of being. She works with paint in its fluid form and is inspired by the macro and micro worlds of nature. Her layered paintings on plexiglas let light shine through, and color is cast on the wall creating yet another layer. Her silk sculpture is a flowing expression of natural elements, with the intention of bringing the power and beauty of nature inside. She uses vibrant colors to give a feeling of optimistic grandeur. Celestian grew up in upstate New York. Her summers were spent traversing the Finger Lakes on her family boat. The influence of nature is present in her work today. She earned a bachelor of fine arts from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia, and has received numerous grants from the Delaware Division of the Arts.
