Emiley Bisaha
A senior on the Sussex Academy girls' lacrosse team, Bisaha registered her 100th goal for the Seahawks with her second goal of the game during the Seahawks’ 22-2 win over Henlopen South foe Indian River. The Salisbury University commit also scored four goals in the season opener against Sts. Peter & Paul (Md.), five goals against Kent Island (Md.), and one against Cape for a 12-goal total through four games. Bisaha has also played for Eastern Shore Lacrosse Club and M&D Shore Lacrosse Club over her 10 years in the sport. While she loves the game’s speed, her signature asset is ripping shots. It takes practice to pick up a stick with almost no pocket and crank shots, and Bisaha has done a lot of that over the years, as well as taking in pointers from other players and coaches.
Jaxon Clampitt
A senior starting pitcher for the Cape baseball team, this honors and Advanced Placement student has power from the mound as well as at the plate. He recently threw his pitch limit of 85 in five shutout innings during a thrilling 1-0 win over Caesar Rodney. He struck out eight batters. He also delivered a sacrifice fly ball to left in the bottom of the 11th inning to score Jase Mitchell to win the game. "Jaxon can shut teams down when he's on the mound," said Cape coach Ben Evick. "His off-speed stuff is hard to hit, and he has tremendous power at the plate and has a strong arm in the outfield. He has an elite-level baseball IQ that he brings to all facets of the game." Jaxon is committed to Florida Tech in Melbourne, Fla., where he plans to pursue a degree in aerospace engineering. A 6-foot-3 righty who came up through the Bagel Bombers and Delmarva Aces programs, Jaxon likes to play golf and go to the beach in his spare time.
Jacob Smith
An honors and Advanced Placement student at Cape, this senior closer is mowing down batters for the 2025 Cape baseball team. He recently relieved Jaxon Clampitt against Caesar Rodney and struck out 11 batters over six strong innings in an 11-inning, 1-0 win over Caesar Rodney. "Jacob is a legitimate No. 1 pitcher," said Cape coach Ben Evick. "He has shut down his opponents with his off-speed pitches, and he has a 90-plus-mph fastball that he blows by batters." Jacob had a perfect ERA the entire regular season last year and has the same so far this season. A 6-foot-4 right-hander, Jacob hasn't committed to a college after this season, but has had numerous looks from high-level universities. In his spare time, he likes fishing, crabbing and relaxing on Broadkill Beach skipping stones in Delaware Bay.
Deb Williams
Sussex Academy opponents this spring may find the midfield a little rough to handle, and one of the reasons is junior Deb Williams. This midfielder dominates the center of the pitch with precious care of the ball while in possession, and incredible accuracy on challenges and tackles. After scoring the second goal of the year in the Seahawks' 3-0 season opener against Sussex Tech, Williams captured her first hat trick of the year in a 5-0 victory against a quality Smyrna squad. She scored from the spot, on a corner, and from just outside the box, and was quick to compliment eighth-grader Patty Lara Nieto for creating her scoring chances. Williams began her career 14 years ago with River Soccer Club and plays now for Shore, which she credits with improving her speed on the ball. She hopes to continue playing in college, but said academics will always come first; she is looking at schools like Johns Hopkins. This summer, Williams will travel to Texas for a biomedical engineering internship. She enjoys crocheting in her free time and tries to improve on other hobbies she finds interesting.
