Briggs Gannon
Briggs, twin brother of Finn, is grappling at 82 pounds for the Fred Thomas Middle School wrestling team. He won last weekend's Steve Stewart Middle School Wrestling Classic in Milford after going 5-0. He opened with a forfeit, followed by two straight falls and a tech fall (18-0) before recording a pin in the finals over Teague Hoffman of Delmar in 1:47. Briggs was selected by the coaches as the Outstanding Wrestler in the tournament. He finished the season unbeaten at 18-0. Briggs is an honor roll student who plays football in the fall and travel baseball for the Delmarva Aces. He also enjoys hunting and fishing.
Finn Gannon
Finn, twin brother of Briggs, is an unbeaten 76-pound wrestler for Fred Thomas Middle School team. At the 2025 Steve Stewart Wrestling Classic in Milford last weekend, Finn concluded an undefeated season with a tournament win. After receiving a bye in the opening round, Finn executed three straight falls – each under a minute – before beating Caleb Swain of Woodbridge in the finals 8-3. Finn completed his seventh-grade season with an overall record of 18-0. Finn is an honor roll student who plays football in the fall and travel baseball for the Delmarva Aces. He also enjoys hunting and fishing.
Havyn Greene
One of the three towers on the Cape girls' basketball team, this 6-foot-2 senior is a force in the paint, averaging more than 15 points per game since she dropped 20 points on Caesar Rodney Jan. 21. Dynamite on the boards, Havyn collected three double-doubles in that same five-game stretch. Playing the game for 12 years, Havyn plays AAU ball in the summer for Team Melo. She plans to attend and play basketball at Webster University this fall. Havyn believes her understanding of the sport has increased with the variety of game concepts she’s tackled as a member of the Cape team. Her all-around game was prevalent in the Feb. 4 contest against Milford when she recorded 12 points, seven boards, two assists, two steals and a block.
Jack Hudson
Jack wrestles in the tough 106-pound weight class for Fred Thomas. He went 5-0 at last weekend’s Steve Stewart Middle School Wrestling Classic in Milford to win the championship and finish the season 18-0. Jack had a grueling match in the championship, winning by decision over Wilbur Doughty of Dover Central by a 4-3 decision. Jack is an honors student and a National Junior Honor Society member. He was a member of the 2024 U14 Team Delaware Freestyle and Greco Roman National team. Jack started wrestling at age 6 with the Cape Takedown Club. He was also a state placer in cross country this past fall. In addition, Jack is a beach athlete who enjoys skimboarding.
