Bayhealth announces new officers for 2019-20
Bayhealth’s Board of Directors is composed of community leaders with diverse expertise and talents. This all-volunteer group devotes a substantial amount of time in directing Bayhealth’s organizational strategic plans and goals to meet the needs of its growing community.
Bayhealth recently announced the appointment of its officers for the 2019-20 term: Chair William J. Strickland; Vice Chair Sharad C. Patel, MD; Vice Chair Jeffrey A. Young, Esq.; President and Bayhealth Chief Executive Officer Terry M. Murphy, FACHE; Secretary Rebecca B. Kidner, Esq.; and Treasurer and Bayhealth Chief Financial Officer Michael J. Tretina.
Board members also re-elected Strickland to a new four-year term, and elected Gertrude Findley-Christian, MD, to a four-year term as director. Findley-Christian is a board-certified nephrologist with Nephrology Associates P.A., a single-specialty practice focusing on the care of patients with kidney disease and hypertension, and she is on the medical staff at Bayhealth. She received her medical degree at the University of Liberia’s College of Medicine and completed a residency and internship at Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital, and a fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
Strickland is the president and principal of L&W Insurance Agency in Dover, one of the largest independent agencies in Delaware. He has worked in the insurance business for more than 25 years, with a primary focus on employee benefits. Strickland chaired the Campaign for Bayhealth – Phase III, which raised funds for the Sussex Campus, and he currently serves on the board of directors for Kent-Sussex Industries, Wesley College and Kent County Regional Sports Complex Corporation.
