A Baywood Greens home went up in flames March 3 during an early morning fire near Long Neck.
The fire was reported about 2 a.m. at 32580 Long Spoon Way. Responding firefighters from Indian River, Lewes, Millsboro, Milton and Dagsboro found the home fully engulfed in flames. Officials said it appears the fire started in the garage area of the residential structure and quickly spread across the roofline to the rest of the home, causing significant damage. One firefighter required emergency medical services evaluation.
The Delaware State Fire Marshal is investigating, and more information will be provided when available.
Officials said the fire may have started in the garage before spreading throughout the home.
Five fire companies responded to the early morning fire.
