Beacon Middle School crowned three champions while Mariner tallied two second-place finishers in the Middle School Wrestling Classic at Milford Middle School Feb. 6.
Beacon's Micah Crenshaw scored a 4-2 overtime victory over Millsboro's Mason Ankrom in the 76-pound class.
Beacon's Andre Currie pinned Fifer Middle School's Kenel Decembre at 3:54 of the 118-pound class.
One of the most exciting matches was Beacon's Jackson Handlin meeting Mariner's Albert Hewlett in the 130-pound championship. Handlin outlasted Hewlett 6-4 to win the top spot on the podium.
Mariner's Dajour Bailey and Albert Hewlett took second in the 112 and 130 classes, respectively, while Christopher Gonzalez and Jordan McNair-Baine took third place at 100 and 106. Juan Lares placed fourth in the 124-pound class.
Beacon champions were Micah Crenshaw at 76, Andre Currie at 118 and Jackson Handlin at 130. Finbar Rishko placed third at 112.
