The Cape boys’ lacrosse team held its 2024 end-of-season celebration June 18 at The Clubhouse at Baywood.
Receiving the Junior Varsity MVP Award was Patrick Little. The JV Offensive MVP Award went to Liam Crotty, while the JV Defensive MVP Award winner was Marcello Orsini. The JV Most Improved Player Award went to James Reed. The JV Spirit Award went to Cooper Forcucci. The JV team’s Unsung Hero Award was presented to Anthoni Jimenez, and the JV Sportsmanship Award was presented to Reece Kuklish.
The Varsity MVP Award was presented to Michael Gunther and Jack Schell. The Offensive MVP Award went to Burke Healy, and the Defensive MVP Award went to Jake Hutchison. The Most Improved Award was presented to Evan Burris. The Spirit Award went to Anderson Smith. The Unsung Hero Award was presented to Jack Huss, while the Sportsmanship Award went to Tino Demerutis.
Bob Uffelman acted as emcee for the event. The 2024 boys’ lax boosters gave each player a gift bag of Cape lacrosse swag along with a memory book of the 2024 season.
“We had a lot of fun coaching this group,” said head coach Geoff Shupard. “The amount of improvement they showed from the beginning of the season to the end was remarkable. I think they exceeded a lot of people’s expectations, and I’m so proud of them.”
