The Cape Gazette’s 3rd Annual Run & Fun Fest to benefit the Harry K Foundation is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 10, when Nassau Commons near Lewes will bring together fitness enthusiasts, families and local businesses for a full day of fun.
The day kicks off with the Seashore Striders Cape Gazette 5K, where runners will be rewarded at the finish line with post-race beers from Crooked Hammock and Dogfish Head for those 21 and over, plus refreshments from Redner’s. Not 21? Participants also receive an exclusive event T-shirt, and first-place male and female finishers receive a free pair of Brooks sneakers powered by Charm City Run. Dink lovers can join the 2nd Annual Pickleball Tournament at Dave Marshall Tennis & Pickleball, featuring men’s, women’s and mixed doubles categories for 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0+ divisions. Each player gets a tournament T-shirt and two beer tickets; interested parties should sign up by Monday, May 5.
All-day activities at Nassau Commons include live music on the lawn from Lower Case Blues, a beer garden featuring products from six local breweries and a cornhole competition, food trucks serving up tasty eats, a petting zoo and pony rides for youngsters, plus face painting and a bounce house. A Maker’s Market will showcase talented local vendors and artisans.
