The Cape Henlopen High School girls’ lacrosse team dominated Archmere Academy 15-8 May 23 to win the program’s 11th straight state championship and secure an undefeated 18-0 season.
The Vikings have an ongoing streak of 137 straight wins against Delaware opponents. Their last in-state loss was to St. Andrew’s May 2, 2009.
Cape jumped out to quick lead early, scoring six straight goals before Archmere found the net. The Vikings led 11-4 at halftime. Archmere cut into the lead in the second half, but couldn’t overcome the deficit.
