Children’s Beach House to offer after-school programs at Milton elementaries
Children's Beach House recently announced it will be offering new after-school and summer programs at Milton Elementary and H.O. Brittingham Elementary schools.
With a focus on positive youth development theory, the cornerstone of CBH’s work with children and youth across the state, these programs will provide essential academic support and social-emotional skills for up to 280 students.
“We are so excited to expand our relationship with the Town of Milton and its schools in this way,” said Rich Garrett, CBH executive director. “Again and again, research reveals that quality, dependable after-school and summer programming is an essential part of positive outcomes for children, families and communities.”
The after-school programs will be run by Children’s Beach House in partnership with Cape Henlopen School District. Each site will serve up to 140 students, with a focus on academic support and social-emotional skills. The programs will also offer five weeks of summer programming. “Together, we are thrilled to embark on this partnership, empowering our learners with the tools, services, and experiences that lead to success and achievement,” said Bob Fulton, district superintendent. “A community committed to student outcomes creates a brighter future.”
“This is a true partnership in every sense of the word,” Garrett said. “It takes a village to raise a child. This is our village. These are our children. We are eager to welcome volunteers, collaborators, donors and anyone else who wants to be a part of building a future where all children thrive.”
