Cinema Art Theater to screen new films June 28

June 27, 2024

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater, starting Friday, June 28, will present “Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person,” “Firebrand” and “Cora Bora.”

In the comedy-horror film, “Humanist Vampire,” Sasha is a young vampire with a serious problem: She's too sensitive to kill. When her exasperated parents cut off her blood supply, Sasha's life is in jeopardy. Luckily, she meets Paul, a lonely teenager with suicidal tendencies who is willing to give his life to save hers. But their friendly agreement soon becomes a nocturnal quest to fulfill Paul's last wishes before day breaks.

The history drama “Firebrand” is set in blood-soaked Tudor England. Twice married, accomplished and educated Katherine Parr (Alicia Vikander) reluctantly agrees to become the sixth wife of the tyrannical King Henry VIII (Jude Law). Her consent to marry him carries great personal risk, given that her predecessors are all vanquished, beheaded or dead.

In the romantic comedy, “Cora Bora,” the lead character senses her open relationship is on the rocks. When the struggling musician and messy millennial goes home to Portland to win her girlfriend back, she realizes it’s much more than her love life that needs salvaging.

Regular film admission is $9 for film society members, $11.50 for the general public and $5 for students. Festival admission is $12 per film for all audiences and $5 for students. All student tickets are only available at the box office.

For all screening times and dates, and to purchase tickets, go to rehobothfilm.com or visit the box office from 12 to 8 p.m., Wednesday to Friday.
