Clayton Theatre to host Delaware premiere of indie western, 'Day of the Gun,' May 24

One-Eyed Horse Productions announces the Delaware premiere of its second feature, "Day of the Gun,"  Saturday, May 24, at the historic Clayton Theatre, 33246 Main St., Dagsboro.

Beginning at 2:30 p.m., the program will be hosted by Robert Alexander, who plays ranch owner Granville Stewart in the film. A question-and-answer session will follow the screening. There will be a second screening at 7 p.m., Monday, May 26, also followed by a Q&A session.

"Day of the Gun" tells the story of widowed ranch owner Maggie Carter (LaDon Hall) who, in her struggle to survive, demands that local cattle baron Cyrus McCall (Jim Osborn) remove a barbed-wire fence he has put up to deter rustlers. Maggie contends that the wire is across open range and threatens her livelihood. She promises, “There will be hell to pay” if it doesn’t come down.

Before the range war actually begins, however, tragedy strikes Maggie’s family. In desperation, Maggie summons a dark stranger (Eric Roberts) from her veiled past to even the score.

"Day of the Gun" features many fine actors from Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, and Pennsylvania as well as Academy Award nominee Eric Roberts. While the majority of the picture was shot locally, the second unit provided the Montana vistas that carry the audience back to a world both beautiful and harsh.

Tickets are now available at the Clayton box office. They will also be available at the door.
