October 7, 2024

The Delaware State Chamber of Commerce 188th Annual Dinner is set for Monday, Jan. 13, at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, Wilmington.

With more than 1,100 business, community and government leaders, the chamber’s annual dinner is Delaware’s premier business event and has always been the place to be for high-level networking.

Event highlights include presentation of the state chamber’s highest business honor, the Josiah Marvel Cup, and keynote speaker Rod Ward III, president and chief executive officer of Corporation Service Company.

As the world’s leading provider of business administration and compliance solutions, CSC powers every stage of the business life cycle. Its resources include more than 8,500 people with capabilities in over 140 jurisdictions, and hundreds of thousands of organizations rely on CSC’s expertise, service and global capabilities as they face increasing complexity and regulation. Privately owned and with a 125-year track record, CSC consistently delivers market-leading expertise and exceptional service, driven by a fierce client spirit and unmatched global reach. It is the business behind business.

Ward was elected president and CEO of CSC in 2010. Over his career, he has worked in manufacturing as president of the Speakman Company and vice president of Snap-On Inc.’s European Equipment division. He worked for FMC Corp. in operations and for Credit Suisse as a precious metals trader. Along with Delaware Gov. John Carney, Ward serves as co-chair of the Delaware Prosperity Partnership, a public-private collaboration for economic development. He also serves on the advisory board of both the Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance at the University of Delaware and Leadership Delaware.

“I’m so pleased to be addressing the 188th Annual Dinner of the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, made even more special by the fact that I’ll be there to congratulate the 75th Marvel Cup winner – an award named after Josiah Marvel, who was the partner and co-founder of CSC along with my great-grandfather, Christopher Ward,” said Ward. “Both of these men shared an entrepreneurial spirit that lives on today in CSC and in the companies that prosper in Delaware. I’m honored to share the story of CSC and how we take care of business for companies around the globe that rely on us to create the competitive edge that lets them perform at their best. We also take care of each other, as well as focus on leaving the communities where we live and work better off tomorrow than they are today.”
