The Delaware Dance Alliance announced its annual performance of “The Nutcracker” ballet is set for 7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 2 and 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3, at Sussex Central High School. Delaware Dance Alliance’s home is First State Dance Academy, Milford.
This classic holiday tradition has been choreographed by Artistic Director Michele Xiques, who has pulled from her professional dancing and performing experience to create this timeless children's favorite. By using dancers from Delaware and Maryland with diverse talents, Xiques has put together a “Nutcracker” ballet sure to please all audiences. This year’s “Nutcracker” stars Katie Mae Fields, 17, and Cameron Schick, 17, as the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Cavalier. Xiques is excited to be doing her production at the school where she started a full-time dance program.
