The Delaware Football Club South hosted a game day Aug. 11 at Cape Henlopen High School, welcoming Concord Football Club of Wilmington. Five age groups were represented at the matches. Games were held at the Bermuda field, Legends Stadium and Champions Stadium.

The DEFC high school girls’ squad defeated the Concord girls 3-1.

The DEFC 2012 boys defeated Concord 5-0. The DEFC 2013 boys tied the Concord team 2-2.

The DEFC 2014 boys fell to Concord 3-1, and the DEFC 2011 boys fell to the Concord 2009 boys 5-0.

“We are super pleased with the first event that we held as Delaware Football Club South,” said Patrick Kilby, coach and director of operations for the south location. “We have a wonderful relationship with Concord soccer club out of Wilmington. It was great to get our kids out on the field and playing during this preseason event. We are very excited for all of our teams to be on the field Aug. 25, when we host River Soccer Club for a preseason festival at Cape Henlopen High School.”

DEFC offers various camps and clinics throughout the year for recreational and competitive players, along with educational opportunities for coaches interested in taking their coaching to the next level. The clubs are located in Wilmington, Hockessin, Middletown and Lewes.
