Delmarva Christian pitcher Kaylan Yoder chalked up 20 strikeouts and went yard in the Royals’ 2-0 win over Appoquinimink April 18 in Georgetown. It was her second consecutive perfect game.
“We continue to practice with the same systems that we have had in place since the beginning,” said Royals coach Rachel Fetterman. “We work hard every day knowing that a win is never guaranteed. The energy was really good today, the team was up, and Kaylan was pitching amazingly. We saw the ball well at the plate. I was proud of how well we attacked.”
Maggie Kwiatkowski delivered with a single. She eventually scored on a sacrifice bunt by Lily Fetterman.
“I keep talking to everyone while we are in the field,” said Kwiatkowski. “I make sure everyone knows the count and to be ready to back up and other action, because anything can happen.”
Royals juniors Ryley McCluskey and Katie Thompson delivered with hits.
The Royals are 9-0. They will travel to Archmere Thursday, April 20.
