Donald E. Hocker, avid golfer
Donald E. Hocker, 77, of Millsboro, passed away Monday, Oct. 23, 2017, at his home. He was born Friday, Sept. 6, 1940, in Westfield, Mass., son of the late Clarence and Mary (Lang) Hocker.
Mr. Hocker was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Colour Guard for the American Legion Post 28. Following his service, he earned his associates degree from Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, and made a lifelong career in the automotive industry working as a traffic manager. An avid golfer, Mr. Hocker enjoyed hitting the links at every opportunity, in addition to tending to his gardens with his expertly skilled green thumb. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend who cherished time spent with his loved ones above all. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Hocker is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia (Armstrong) Hocker of Millsboro; his daughters: Lori Pepper and her husband Brian of Kennett Square, Pa., and Patti Lupi of Wilmington; and his grandchildren: Zachary, Harrison, Blake, Dylan, Austin, and Garrett, all of Kennett Square, and Skye and Carmine, both of Wilmington.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be held privately at a later date.
