Donna Vermillion Hayes, Econolodge employee
Donna Vermillion Hayes died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.
She was born July 13, 1955, at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C., daughter of the late Howard and Patricia Vermillion. Donna grew up in Washington, D.C., moved to Riverdale then settled in Bladensburg, Md. in 1962. With her two close siblings, Patsy and Janet, Donna loved to go roller skating at the Bladensburg Roller Rink. In Bladensburg, Donna spent most of her time with her best friend Wendy, who lived next door. Donna loved to read, loved scary movies and loved bingo and bowling. Donna bowled many years on a league with her sisters and mother.
After Donna married in 1978, her daughter Christina was born in December 1980. After a time, Donna and Tina moved with Patricia Vermillion to Rehoboth Beach. In Delaware, Donna worked at Beebe Medical Center for seven years, then began working at the Econolodge in Rehoboth Beach. Donna spent most of her time with her daughter and they were inseparable. Donna loved the beach, the boardwalk and Funland. Donna will be missed by her family and the many friends she had made over the years.
Donna is survived by her daughter Christina Hayes; sisters Janet Lee, Patsy Wickline and Barbie Corbin; and brothers Keith Vermillion and Tony Vermillion. Donna also leaves behind six nieces; two nephews; and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.
