Dover businesses support Veterans United Outreach
Veterans United Outreach of Delaware owns a dedicated truck that provides free transportation and other services for Delaware veterans in need. The highly detailed truck lists names of Delawareans who died in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.
Doug DeAngelis of Patriot Auto and Truck Care at 497 S. DuPont Highway in Dover provided labor, and Barbara Pasqua, manager of Advance Auto Parts at 422 S. DuPont Highway provided parts for a recent service tune-up.
A unique use of the truck is when it serves as a hearse when requested by families. May 1 will mark the 20th anniversary of the service. “It's been our honor to reach out to veterans and their families throughout the years," said Mike Snyder, Veterans United Outreach president. "Networking with organizations and veterans over the years has been fulfilling, and we are grateful to these businesses.”
DeAngelis, a Navy veteran, and his wife Kathy support veterans and first responders through discounts and a cookout every Veterans Day.
