March 21, 2024

A Dover man, 19, faces charges in connection with a June 2 shooting at Paradise Grill.

Ja’shawn Moore was taken into custody after a months-long investigation into a fight that Moore and several others had with one man inside the bar, police said. Bouncers tried to escort Moore and the other men outside, police said, but they went back inside to continue the altercation. The man then left the establishment with two women, police said, and as they drove out of the parking lot the group began running after the car, and gunshots were fired. Everyone then left the area.

When police arrived, they found numerous bullet casings in the area. Police learned that the car was hit by gunfire. No one was injured, and no one was identified at the time.

Moore was taken to Troop 3 and charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, three counts first-degree reckless endangering, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, second-degree conspiracy and criminal mischief. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $87,000 cash bond.
