Duke has a good chance to win another men’s basketball championship

Duke has been playing quite well in the four games so far in the tournament leading up to the final four games on Saturday and Monday. A lot of people probably picked them to win the tournament. I am regretting the fact that I picked Houston to win. Duke has a team that has four or five future NBA players, led by Cooper Flagg, who is going to be the No. 1 pick in this year‘s NBA draft.

For the first time since 2008, all four No. 1 seeds made it to the final four in the men’s bracket. I hope the two final four games are both exciting college games to watch.

In the women’s tournament, defending champion South Carolina could be on a collision course with No. 2 seed and past champion Connecticut in the finals. The other two teams are Texas and UCLA. Both are looking for their very first national championship. The games will be played on Friday and Sunday in Tampa, Fla. I hope they’re both great games so the women’s game continues its momentum from the last two years.

The Phillies are off to a great start in the first week of the season. They are 5-1 and in first place. Surprisingly, the Miami Marlins are in second place. The Phillies have taken advantage of an easy schedule to start the season so far, playing the Washington Nationals and the Colorado Rockies. This weekend they will be tested, as they are playing the undefeated reigning MLB champion Los Angeles Dodgers in three games at home starting on Friday. Their goal this weekend should be to win the series against the Dodgers.

Then they will travel to play the desperate Atlanta Braves, who are 0-7 on the season so far. They played the Padres and the Dodgers to start the season. Over the first week, the two offensive MVPs for the Phillies have been designated hitter Kyle Schwarber and super utility man Edmundo Sosa. Let’s see how long they can keep this up.
