The 43rd Annual Gary P. Lister Bottle & Cork 10-Miler and 5K Run/Walk took place Sept. 7 in Dewey Beach. One of Delaware's oldest road races, the 10-mile course starts in Dewey Beach and heads to Rehoboth. This year, 225 runners finished the race.
Dylan Smiley of West Chester, Pa., took first place in the 10-miler with a 51:40.4 time, besting the second-place finisher by more than six minutes. Denise Knickman of Baltimore took top female honors with a time of 1:08.0.
Taking first in the 5K was Mike Durkin of Newark with a 16:19.1. Bailey Davin of Newark placed first in the female division with a 20:07.8.
Some proceeds from the race benefit the Sussex Consortium.

Denise Knickman of Baltimore took top honors in the 10-miler female division and 10th overall with a 1:08:44.0.
Mike Durkin of Newark takes first overall in the 5K with a 16:19.1.
Bailey Davin from Newark takes first female honors in the 5K with a 20:07.8.
Ginger Shaud of Rehoboth placed 13th in her age group with a 23:56.1.
Lydia Fimmano of Newark took fourth in the 14-18 female group with a 25:38.5.
Bridget Andrews of Middletown runs to a 17th-place finish in the 19-24 age group with a 26:33.5. Andrews is the granddaughter of former Dewey Mayor Jim Lavelle and wife Linda.
Tim McCoy of Rehoboth Beach runs to third place in the male 60-64 age group with a 29:48.6.
Kelly Jones of Key West ran to first place in the 45-49 age group with a 25:24.5.
Max, left, and Miles Horowitz of Landenberg, Pa., took first and second in the male 1-9 age group with a 38:41.4 and 38:44.4, respectively.
Christina McDermott of Wilmington took first place in the 50-54 age group with a 1:13:42.6.
Jason Reed of Brisbane, Calif., placed second in the 10-miler with a 57:44.7.
Michael Marciano of Lewes took first in the 30-34 age group and eighth overall with a 1:06:12.9.
Patrick Beebe of Rehoboth Beach placed first in the 45-49 division and 17th overall with a 1:12:02.5.
Allison Einig of Newark placed first in the female 19-24 division with a 20:36.1.
