Eleanor R. Smith, Sussex homemaker
Eleanor R. Smith, 82, of Milton, passed away Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, in her home. Eleanor was born in Bridgeville, daughter of the late Daniel B. and Laura C. (Lingo) Smith.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking for family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband: George H. Smith Sr.; and three sisters: Elmeda Betts, Dorothy Workman and Gladys Coverdale.
She is survived by three sons: George H. Smith II, Richard Smith and wife Bonnie, all of Milton, and Dennis Smith and wife Wanda, of Lincoln; two grandchildren: Kerri Watson and husband Steve and Shane Smith; two great-grandchildren: Madison and Caleb Watson; a brother: Frank Smith, and sister: Phyllis Stout, both of Milton.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton where friends may call after 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, that family suggests contributions be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 Dupont Blvd., Unit 6, Suite 6, Millsboro, DE 19966.
