Elena Mary Street, Nanticoke member

Mrs. 85, of Millsboro passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2019.  

Mrs. Street was born in Millsboro to the late Wilson and Myrtle Sammons Harmon.  She was a member of the Nanticoke Indian Association and the Millsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church.  She served the handicapped area of the Nanticoke Powwow.  Elena was a homemaker, but was employed at the unemployment office and the courthouse in Georgetown.  She loved flower gardening and making floral arrangements. Elena was nice, outgoing, friendly and liked to talk to her friends and family.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, James L. Street Sr. of Millsboro; one son, James L. Street Jr. of Millsboro; two brothers, Conrad Harmon and Jan Harmon; as well as three sisters, Myrtle “June” Robbins, Lorraine Johnson and Beatrice Miller.  She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Mario Street and Tshnina Street; along with two great-grandchildren, Trista and Kinley Street.  She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 20, at the Millsboro Seventh Day Adventist Church, 30007 Cordrey Road, Millsboro, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m, for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
