Reminiscent of days gone by, local churches united to bring the Fire in the Field tent revival to Sussex County on the grounds of Crossroad Community Church near Georgetown Oct. 10-14.
Large crowds filled the tent as they listened to internationally known evangelist Frank Shelton and were inspired by the music and testimony of Chris McDaniel, who was a member of the county band Confederate Railroad for 16 years.
McDaniel said he was saved from a life of addiction when he found Jesus. “I was a hopeless, broken drug addict. It’s Jesus that takes broken pieces and turns them into masterpieces,” he said.
Shelton, who lives with his family in southern Maryland, said he felt a calling to reach out to Delaware. “We came here on faith,” he said. “God is coming real soon. We are in the ninth inning. All of you can find freedom at this altar because you know God alters lives.”
