Food Bank to host High Stakes Harvest dinner Nov. 28

November 12, 2023

The Food Bank of Delaware will hold its inaugural High Stakes Harvest, a farm-to-table dinner, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Harrington Raceway and Casino. Hosted by Bonz Restaurant and Lounge, High Stakes Harvest is a social-style food event featuring a local farm-fresh menu and an open bar, at 18500 S. DuPont Highway, Harrington.

Guests will enjoy passed hors d’oeuvres, stations featuring farm-fresh favorites, a buffet including carved tenderloin, gouda mac and cheese, warm potato salad and truffle Brussels, pumpkin and apple treats and an open bar with fall-favorite drinks.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Food Bank of Delaware on this first-time event,” said Hank Rosenberg, COO of hospitality at Harrington Raceway and Casino. “What a great opportunity to showcase Delaware producers and growers with this farm-to-table event. We believe in the Food Bank’s mission to create a community free of hunger, so we cannot wait to open our doors to help support this cause.”

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Food Bank’s Building Hope in Milford capital campaign to construct a new facility in Milford. With just $3.5 million to go in the $34 million campaign, the organization is close to meeting its goal.

“We are grateful to Harrington Raceway and Casino for opening their doors to help us raise money to close out our campaign to build a new facility in Milford,” said Cathy Kanefsky, Food Bank of Delaware president and CEO. “We are so close to the fundraising finish line and just weeks away from opening the doors to our new facility that will transform the way we serve our community. This new building will enable us to provide so much hope to our neighbors. We look forward to a fun evening at the casino to help raise money for this transformative project.”

Tickets are $75 per person, and include food and an open bar. To purchase tickets, go to fbd.org/harvest.
