Frances Walls-Devonshire, Arrow Safety Device retiree

Frances Walls-Devonshire, 93, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully Sunday, Jan. 23, 2022, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

Frances was born in Lewes, daughter of the late Clyde P. and Mildred (Short) Joseph. She worked for 41 years at Arrow Safety Device in Georgetown on the assembly line and retired many years ago.

Frances enjoyed playing card games, shopping at Peebles, a cold Coca-Cola, going for car rides, and having a delicious meal out.  She especially loved daily morning meetings with her friends at McDonald's in Georgetown.

In addition to her parents, Frances is preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Walls; her second husband, John R. Devonshire; her son, Gale Walls; and a grandson, Jeffrey Walls.

She is survived by two grandchildren, Susan Walls and companion Rob Dennis, and Christina Paugh (Randy); four great-grandchildren, Sarah Wing, Nicole Paugh, Caiden Paugh and Jordan Walls (Kaylee); her companion, Sam Warrington; her daughter-in-law, Helen Walls; and granddaughter-in-law, Lisa Walls.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 1, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where a time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Jan. 31. Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

Mask wearing is required and social distancing must be observed by all service attendees and participants.
