Frank James Harrison, great family man

May 10, 2017

Frank James Harrison, 88, of Whaleyville, Md., formerly of Philadelphia, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, May 5, 2017, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Md.

Frank was born in White Hall, Ala., April 4, 1929, son of the late William Harrison and Queenie V. (Mills) Harrison. At a very young age Frank and his family moved to Philadelphia, and he became a forklift operator for Pierce Fire Proofing in Huntingdon Valley, Pa., with over 40 years of service.

In 1993, Frank and his family moved to Whaleyville. He loved deep-sea fishing, vegetable gardening, taking long distant trips, and deer and rabbit hunting. He was a great family man, not only to his brother, sister, nieces and nephews, but to all who knew him. He loved his family and friends and if he could help you do anything, he would. He was an awesome example to us all.

He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Berlin, Md.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Catherine (Lattimore) Harrison; five children, Louise Swinson, Virgia Lemon and her husband Wayne, Frank James Harrison Jr., Fred Harrison, and Billy Harrison and his wife Tracy; his adopted son, Sean Lattimore and his wife Wendy, and a son that he raised Danny Harrison. Frank is also survived by his brother, Calvin Harrison and his wife Eleanor; a sister, Dorothy Harper and her husband Ezekiel; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters. He cherished life and family so much that he added seven more to the family.

A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon, Friday, May 12, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford. A memorial service will be held at  6 p.m., Friday, May 12, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 212 West St., Berlin. Interment will be private.
