Frank Jones Jr., Lewes Historical Society member

Frank “Rogers” Jones Jr., 88, of Lewes, formerly of Norton, Va., died Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at his home with his family by his side.

Rogers graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor of arts degree in 1957. He was a member and president of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-60, followed by four years in the Army Reserves. Rogers worked for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia for 14 years in provider services, retiring in 1997. Rogers loved Lewes Historical Society, where he served several terms as president. He also was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Rehoboth Beach and Friends of Prime Hook Wildlife Refuge.

Rogers is survived by his wife, Suzanne; his children, Frank and Elizabeth; and his grandchildren, Allison, Frank, Abigail, Lauren and Stephen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Thelma.

Rogers donated his body to the University of Delaware’s Physical Therapy department.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Peter’s Church in Lewes.
