Geography bee winner announced for Rehoboth Elementary
January 19, 2018
Fourth- and fifth-grade students at Rehoboth Elementary School competed in the local school portion of the National Geographic Bee Jan. 12.
McKenna Danahy, a fifth-grader, placed first for his school for the second year in a row, and Miles Godwin earned the runner-up spot.
Students in each homeroom had a preliminary round that consisted of seven questions. The eight students who participated in the final round were the winners from each of the fourth- and fifth-grade homerooms.
With Danahy's first-place win, he will take a state qualifying test that is administered online. If he qualifies, he will compete in the Delaware State Geography Bee Friday, April 6.
