Greater Lewes Foundation welcomes new charitable funds
Four new funds joined the Greater Lewes Foundation in December, increasing the total number of charitable funds managed by the GLF to 81.
The new additions are the Punkin’ Chunkin’ Fund, the Delaware Film Commission Fund, the Shari Burke Memorial Swim Scholarship, and Lyrics in Lewes Fund.
“We are pleased to welcome these new funds and their advisors to the GLF family,” said Joe Stewart, foundation chair. “Each will contribute to our overall mission to maintain and enhance the qualify of life in greater Lewes and across our region.”
As a small, locally oriented foundation, the GLF is able to provide exceptional services to support the success of its funds, Stewart said, including fundraising advice and assistance, social media and graphic design support, and other individualized services.
The GLF can manage pass-through funds, field-of-interest funds, scholarships, funds for specific organizations and purposes, and endowments. It also helps direct major projects for the Lewes region such as the current Fourth Street Preserve campaign.
“There is no cost to establish a charitable fund with GLF, and a small one-time fee charged to deposits helps cover a portion of the foundation’s modest overhead costs. We are about growing philanthropy, creating new assets and local leadership, and supporting the strength of our community,” said Mike Rawl, GLF executive director.
