About 100 local government advocates gathered Jan. 25 at Maple Dale Country Club in Dover for the Delaware League of Local Governments’ monthly dinner meeting. DLLG members heard from featured speaker Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, who discussed local government opportunities and challenges.
Also at the meeting, City of Milford Mayor Archie Campbell, who has served as DLLG president since 2002, was awarded a plaque for outstanding service. Town of Clayton Mayor Nickolaus Smith took office as the league’s current president in January 2024.
In addition, City of Milford Manager Mark Whitfield received an Outstanding Service Award as the state’s 2023 Town Manager of the Year.
