Harmony UMC sets women’s prayer breakfast Sept. 16
Harmony United Methodist Church is marking a new season and a new beginning with several worship services in September and October at 27270 John J. Williams Hwy., Millsboro.
A special women’s prayer breakfast is set for 9 a.m., Saturday, Sept 16, with the theme Change, Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone. The guest speaker will be Nika F. Reid, Indian River School District supervisor of support services. Tickets are required.
Harmony invites the public to enjoy an outdoor cookout from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 30, on the church grounds. A Taste of Heaven will be catering, with a menu that includes jerk chicken, barbecue ribs, chicken wings, pasta salad, red beans and rice and pulled pork. Dinners will cost $18 to $55.
Weekly Bible study on a discipleship series continues at 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays.
At 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 8, the Harmony congregation welcomes all to celebrate the annual homecoming, the church’s anniversary, honoring the theme A New Season, A New Beginning. All are invited to a free luncheon after the 10 a.m. morning worship service. The homecoming service preacher at 3 p.m. will be the Rev. Lester Justice of Wesley Temple United Methodist Church, Salisbury, Md. The Nichols Sisters from the Eastern Shore of Maryland will be the guest choir.
Harmony’s Christian Education Committee will present Sussex County Register of Wills Gregory Fuller at 6 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9. All are invited to attend.
