Hawthorne community hosts local author Anne Crown
Writer Anne Crown spoke to a group of Hawthorne community book club members at a Feb. 27 author talk event.
Crown enthralled the audience by reading passages from her book, “Evergreen.” Then she discussed her writing journey, answered questions from the audience and signed books. Crown was accompanied by her publisher, Crystal Heidel of Byzantium Sky Press, and they both discussed their experiences of the publishing process.
Set in Paris and Provence, “Evergreen” tells a story about choices and how an unexpected event can change the course of one’s life. It is an unusual love story of twists and turns with a surprise ending. To emphasize Crown’s vivid descriptions of the Provence landscape with its endless fields of lavender, every table was adorned with fragrant sprigs obtained from Lavender Fields in Milton.
A member of the Rehoboth Beach Writers Guild since it was first established in 2004, Crown is also an acclaimed artist who has traveled extensively and painted in both Europe and the United States.
The Hawthorne community, located on Route 9 east of Georgetown, has four book clubs whose leaders work together to sponsor quarterly author talks for their members. To learn more, contact Gale Deitch at gdeitch1@verizon.net.
