Hertrich wraps up USO Pack the Truck event to support service members
The Hertrich Family of Automobile Dealerships recently completed its eighth annual USO Pack the Truck Supply Drive benefiting USO Delaware, and supporting local active military members and their families.
This year, the Hertrich family was able to donate $5,000 directly, along with $2,600 collected from the public for gift cards to the USO for the benefit of local enlisted military members, National Guard units and their families. The event filled more than 29 trucks with essential snacks and travel supplies, showcasing the generosity and dedication of the community and Hertrich team members. The total topped last year’s effort by more than four truckloads.
“We are honored to support our nation’s heroes year after year,” said Teena Stout, Hertrich dealerships veteran hiring specialist. “Our partnership with USO Delaware reflects our commitment to giving back to the brave men and women who serve, and we are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from our employees and community.”
Among the highlights of the 2024 drive, Hertrich Chevrolet Toyota of Pocomoke earned top donating team honors by contributing a well-rounded 1 ½ truckloads plus a cash donation. Their networking skills with local companies and groups were instrumental in achieving this remarkable contribution. A catered thank-you luncheon will be coordinated soon to celebrate their efforts.
Honorable mentions went to Hertrich Nissan of Dover and Hertrich Ford Lincoln of Milford, which each contributed a rounded truckload and cash donation.
Milford Toyota donated the equivalent of a truckload in cash donations, totaling more than $581.
Donations were accepted at all 23 Hertrich dealerships and 13 collision centers across Delaware and Maryland, as well as through in-person events at Redner’s locations in Lewes, Milford, Camden, west Dover and north Dover.
Hertrich Ford Lincoln of Milford partnered with Dover Air Force Base to host the delivery of donations to the USO Delaware facility with invaluable assistance from DAFB personnel.
