History Book Festival stacks up to be a success

October 5, 2018

Standing-room-only and packed rooms were the norm as the second annual History Book Festival held in Lewes Sept. 28-29 declared over 1,800 attendees. More than 100 volunteers made it possible for 23 authors to give presentations in five locations in town. More than 1,000 books were sold during the two-day event.  The keynote speaker, author of the Eleanor Roosevelt series, Blanche Wiesen Cook, spoke to a sold-out crowd at Bethel UMC. Joining her onstage was interviewer Paul Sparrow, director of the Roosevelt Presidential Library. The David Cieri Band opened the evening with original compositions performed for the PBS Ken Burns documentary on the Roosevelts.
