Frightfully good filmmaking is set to return to the Milton Theatre Sunday, Oct. 16, for the annual Revival House Horror Trailer Challenge, taking place during ZombieFest weekend.
Since its inception, the trailer challenge has grown in popularity and response, with submissions coming in from all across the state and region. All participating filmmakers will have the opportunity to demonstrate their demonic visions on a movie screen in front of a live audience and compete for a chance to win cash prizes.
All participants will be given a line of dialogue and an item to include in their film to ensure it was created for the challenge, and the trailer should be a maximum of three minutes in length. At 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, the Revival House will announce the entry details live on its Facebook page.
Afterward, all participants will have until midnight, Friday, Oct. 14, to script, film and edit their trailers, and email a closed/private link to their project to therevivalhouse@gmail.com.
All qualifying entrants will be screened live during the Oct. 16 event. The winners will all be announced on stage that night and awarded cash prizes. An additional cash prize will be awarded to the evening’s audience favorite based on total votes from those in attendance.
The Horror Trailer Challenge is free to enter and open to all ages. Interested filmmakers or teams can email therevivalhouse@gmail.com to request an entry form or download them from the Revival House website at revivalhousetheater.com. Tickets for the Oct. 16 screening are $10.
