Hundreds turn out for Cape Community Day in Lincoln
Weather was hot, but fun was had by staff, students, friends and family at inaugural event
May 28, 2022
The Cape Henlopen School District hosted the inaugural Cape Community Day in the Park May 21 at the Slaughter Neck Recreation Center.
Student Services and Equity Initiatives Supervisor Louis Cosme helped organize the event with the support of the district. About an hour into the event, Cosme was pleased with how things turned out.
There’s music, free food, fun for the kids and a good turnout, said Cosme. So far, there’s been a few hundred people, he said.
Enjoying the fun, but staying cool in the shade are (l-r) Tracy Clark, Janice Brittingham and Neisha Wilmer.
Cape’s Amanda Archambault is all smiles while Ellie Stack, Graham Stack and dad John Stack pick out a few books from the Sussex Bookmobile.
Cousins Gabriel Cosme, left, and Braxton Slayton race to see who is going to be the first out of the bounce house.
