Intersection works fine if drivers follow rules

June 28, 2024

I read with interest the letter from Bruce Brown of Lewes in the June 21 issue stating that the intersection at Old Landing and Warrington roads needs help.

I live close to that intersection, and I and my family have gone that way many, many times over the years. The only problem I have noted is with drivers coming to the four-way stop who are in a hurry and don’t know or don’t pay attention to the rules of navigating a four-way stop. Some drivers seem to think they don’t have to stop and wait to go; they barely stop and then speed through the intersection. This not only endangers them but every other driver who goes that way.

The four-way stop works fine and has for years – if you follow the rules regarding four-way stops and drive accordingly. Remember, you are not the only one on the road.
