It's All About the Bear art exhibit reception set Sept. 16
CAMP Rehoboth announced the return of its annual art exhibition, It's All About the Bear, from Thursday, Sept. 14 to Saturday, Oct. 7.
The exhibit showcases vibrant art celebrating the bear aspect of LGBTQ culture. A free reception is set for 3 to 6 p.m., Saturday, Sep. 16, at the CAMP Rehoboth Community Center, 37 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. This event is a celebration of art, community and inclusivity. It is an opportunity for art enthusiasts, supporters of LGBTQ culture, and the curious to come together, connect and engage with the works on display.
It's All About the Bear is not just an art exhibition; it is an exploration of identity, diversity and unity within the bear community. While bears are often associated with the four-legged variety in nature, this exhibition focuses on a different kind – a group of men within the gay community who proudly call themselves bears.
From digital graphics to oil painting on wood, mixed media, photography, stained glass, graphite on canvas and more, It's All About the Bear offers a wide array of artistic expressions. The works not only highlight the remarkable talents of the participating artists but also reflect the rich tapestry of LGBTQ culture.
A team of community members juried this exhibition. It features works illuminating the multifaceted nature of the community, produced by a diverse group of local and regional artists such as J.S. Adams, David Camorali, Brad Cox, Amanda Coelho, Timothy P. Credle, Vincent DeLissio, Maxwell Fleishman, Robert Fleming, Todd G. Franson, Jeffrey Todd Moore, Keith David Trievel and Sabina Troncone.
Appearing in conjunction with the annual Rehoboth Beach Bears Weekend, the exhibition explores and embraces the diverse world of bears through art, while it also enlightens, educates and builds community.
