James Stephen Doonan, loved his family

James Stephen Doonan, 83, of Lewes, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022.  He was born May 9, 1938, in Racine, Wis., son of the late Stephen and Ruth (Eggert) Doonan.

Mr. Doonan worked as an experimental technician with heavy-duty equipment for many years. He had many interests and hobbies. Mr. Doonan was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and splitting wood. Above all, Mr. Doonan loved spending time with his family. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Loved by many, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Doonan is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Joyce Doonan of Lewes; his children: Stephen Doonan (Cathy) of Sycamore, Ill., and  Allan Doonan (Jim Stefanelli) of Rehoboth Beach; his granddaughters: Sarah Crisman (Tim) of Naperville, Ill., Elizabeth Doonan of Sycamore, Marisa Atkinson of Elbrus, Ill., and Katie Zielezinski (Kevin) of New Lenox, Ill.; his great-grandchildren: Grace and -grandson on the way of Naperville, and Holly of New Lenox; and his sister, Patricia Dawkins (Tom) of Sicklerville, N.J.

Final care for Mr. Doonan has been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
