Jesse J. Morengo, enjoyed baseball

Jesse J. Morengo, 93, of Milford, formerly of Lewes and Claymont, made his journey into God’s Kingdom Thursday, March 4, 2021.  

Jess was born in Linwood, Pa., Sept. 6, 1927.  He was a World War II veteran, who served in the U.S. Navy (Seabees).

He married his sweetheart, Anna Mae (Hendricks) Morengo in New York City Dec. 16, 1950.  They moved back to the First State in 1951 and made Claymont their home.  He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in any way he could. He especially treasured playing baseball and horseshoes with the kids, and people in the neighborhood would come knocking on the door asking Mr. Morengo to “play ball with us.”  Jess will be sorely missed by all those who loved him.

He was predeceased by his daughter Susan and wife, Anna Mae.

Jess is survived by two sons, Gary (Karen) of Dover and Jess (Anita) of Milford; daughter, Shirley (Edward) of Greenbackville, Va.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
