Jewish Family Services welcomes psychiatrist Mark Borer
Jewish Family Services of Delaware announced that Mark Borer, MD, DLFAPA, DFAACAP, a board-certified psychiatrist, will be providing psychiatric assessments and medication management for its counseling clients in the Lewes office.
“These are services that are very difficult to access in Sussex County,” said JFS CEO Basha Silverman. “We are delighted that a physician of Dr. Borer’s caliber is providing them for our clients.”
Borer specializes in psychopharmacology, family therapy and integrated care. He consults and educates throughout the state, and maintains a private practice in Dover. Borer serves in a number of national and state leadership roles and is a past president of the Psychiatric Society of Delaware.
Founded in 1898, Jewish Family Services of Delaware is a nonprofit human services agency providing counseling and support services to more than 3,200 individuals and families throughout Delaware. JFS provides outpatient mental health services, support for older adults aging in place, risk prevention education, digital media training, workforce skills for at-risk youth, case management for previously adjudicated youth, a volunteer network, and a crisis alleviation program.
JFS opened its Lewes location in January 2016 to provide high-quality counseling and care management services for the residents of Sussex County, particularly its older adult and LGBTQ communities. The Beebe Healthcare 2016 Community Needs Assessment Study ranked mental health and behavioral care as the No. 1 need in Sussex County.
